Someone 'steal my thunder' when they use your ideas or inventions to their own advantage.
for example is stole my thunder (past tense): 
i have a great idea for a news story  but a colage heard me talking about it and in the next meeting he suggest my idea like as had her own, he stole my thunder
for example is steal your thunder (past tense): 
im sorry for steal your thunder but i told to your wife
